5 Unique Gift Ideas for your BFF
October 15, 2015
I don't know about you, but my September through December is full of a ton of birthdays. From friends to family to co-workers it seems like there is one or more every week, including my own!
As I get older, I find it's becoming more important to me to remember important dates like anniversaries and birthdays. Sure anyone can wish Meg a "Happy Birthday" on the ol' Facebook-because Facebook REMINDS THEM! But its quite another thing to send a little card or gift to your BFF to make them feel special. Even if you are 20, 30, 40, or 50-its nice to get real mail. And hey, it keeps the Post office in business too! (look at you creating jobs for Americans, you job creator you!) I still thoroughly enjoy getting that $5 from grandma, don't you?
Now, coming up with ideas of unique gifts for your BFF may not be the easiest. But I have put together a list of fun ways to stand out and make your BFF super happy on her special day. Maybe even ones you never even thought of!
1. Stalk Their Pinterest
A lot of us spend Hours upon hours pinning things we love and find inspiring on Pinterest. Half the time we pin things we don't even know we need till we pin them. Some of us even Pin the same shit over and over again.
So my first Gift idea is to go get your stalk on. Scroll on over to your BFFs Pinterest page. She will probably have a STYLE or HOME inspired board that are gold mines for gift ideas.
Is she pinning the same chunky sweater scarf over and over? What about those earrings? That throw pillow?
Why not surprise her and make her Pins a reality? A lot of the times you can follow through to the link on a Pin to where you can purchase it, whether it be an online store or a lot of the time an Etsy shop. Either way, she will be super surprised and delighted with the thoughtful gift!
2. Etsy Finds
So I mentioned Etsy above, because Pinterest and Etsy really go hand and hand most of the times. But if you search around on Etsy alone, you will find some amazing gift ideas.
To start, you can get her a really fun card like this one from Patterson Paper
Are you miles away from your BFF? Then this mug from The Lofty Sparrow is a perfect gift for Long Distance Friends!
She have a favorite TV show? Just type it in the search box and amazing gems will come up. Like the Walter White Cutting Board from Pegasus Parchments
So again, you will delight her with a really unique gift that she never expected but definitely WANTED!
3. Subscription Box
This is a gift that truly keeps on giving. Subscription boxes are all the rage right now. If you haven't tried Stitch Fix yet, CLICK HERE, like NOW, you won't be sorry.... but I digress....
There are a ton of really affordable (and some splurgey) subscription boxes you can get for you BFF. You can control how long you want the subscription to last and it is fun to have a gift that continues past her actual birthday month.
Your BFF a Beauty Queen? Try Birch Box. A box with a ton of great beauty products and samples. I actually gifted one of my friends Birchbox for 3 months last year for her birthday and it was a hit!
She a Fitness Guru? Try Bulu Box. A box dedicated to healthy snacks, vitamins, and supplement samples.
Foodie? Try Love with Food. A tasting box with a ton of great snacks and food samples. Everything they send is natural and organic. And bonus karma, for every box they send, they donate a meal to charity!
Wine Enthusiast? Try Club W. Although more on the expensive side (this is for only true BFFS) it's really the ultimate gift. You might even want to just gift it to yourself instead. They offer a selection of unique, small production wines that are sourced directly from vineyards and winemakers. 3 bottles are included monthly. And they include recipe pairings, so its really an amazing box!
4. Pumpkin Spice Latte a bitch
AKA Send her a card with a gift card for her favorite coffee place. Even if it's $5 worth, its a nice gesture and will TOTALLY be used and appreciated. Although come to think of it, if she's a Starbucks chic then you will need more than $5.
But nothing is better than getting a Birthday card with just a little something extra to treat yo self! Sounds good to me!
5. Edible Arrangement
Who doesn't like perfectly fresh cut fruit and chocolate covered strawberries delivered right to your door? If you don't, then you are dead to me. Seriously.
Edible arrangements can get pricey but they are really a no brainer gift. Sure Flowers are great, but save those for the boyfriends and husbands. Edible Arrangements are DA bomb! I even sent one to my Grandfather recently for his 91st birthday and he loved it. Again, it's a no brainer.. unless your bestie doesn't like fruit or chocolate and then you need to find a new best friend.
So those are my Top 5 unique gift ideas for you to send to your bestie.
Although ironically, I didn't use any of my above suggestions for my Biffle's birthday recently. She's hardcore into candles (like obsessed) so I sent her a great Yankee Candle Gift Basket. Her mom sent her the same one which was hilarious-we both know her too well.
What are some of your favorite gifts you have given or received for your birthday?
